PLEASE NUMBER EACH QUESTION

1. How can motivational theories help with improving organizational performance? Do you see one theory as more practical than the others? Why?

ANSWER THE ABOVE DISCUSSION AND THEN REPLY TO MY CLASSMATE RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU AGREE? (A MINIMUM OF 125 WORDS or MORE)

Motivation theory is what helps employees work towards a goal or obtaining a higher performance level. As an organization I feel it should invest in any motivation theory to see what inspires an employee as well as an organization learning to understand and manage its employee work behavior. Which a benefit of this is that employees become more productive. Although there are several motivations theories, I find that the Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory is of most importance. One reason because this theory allows us to tap into the employees needs to create a good work environment, maintain retention rate, and promote growth. The other reason is this theory is what our organization implements. It works well for our organization; therefore, I would have to say that an organization should research and examine which motivation theory would be best for their organization needs.

2. What types of people have a better chance of being successful in a foreign assignment? Why? Do you think that you would be successful in an international position? Why, or why not?

ANSWER THE ABOVE DISCUSSION AND THEN REPLY TO MY CLASSMATE RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU AGREE? (A MINIMUM OF 125 WORDS or MORE)

I would say anyone that has already lived or traveled internationally. Perhaps an individual that grow up in the military. They would already know what it is like to adjust to a new culture, new environment, and possibly even understand learning a new language if needed.

The other candidate would be younger employees that haven’t started their families. Making the decision to accept an international assignment is a lot easier to do when you are spouse and children free. It also allows you to travel the world while advancing your career. It’s kinda a win-win for the right individuals.

Personally, at this point in my career, I do you think an international position would work best for my lifestyle.  The opportunity would be an amazing career wise but then it would take my daughter away from a list of things she loves. Her dad, friends, school, her cheer team. Seven years ago I wouldn’t have given it a second thought but now my life and loves are here.
