Theme:Provider (hospital, physician and all clinician) quality:

  • What market failure is the state correcting by requiring the licensing of health care providers? Could the private sector have the equivalent effect? Compare the advantages of a public regulation system to the advantages of a private regulation system. (3-4 pages)
  • Currently the State only provides a license permitting medical practice, which is essentially a quality floor. Should the state do more, such as ranking physician quality? Should the state do less by not requiring a license to practice medicine? (3-4 pages)
