Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Evaluate key eras of influence in higher education and the significant milestones which have shaped contemporary higher education.
  2. Identify and analyze legislation which has impacted higher education practice and policy.
  3. Evaluate the role of Minority Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities in higher education.
  4. Evaluate the evolution of curriculum and instruction in higher education.
  5. Identify and analyze societal and economic influences on higher education.

Begin to think about your final course project (description in Week 6). Then, submit your topic selection for the course project to your course facilitator. Your topic selection should be two paragraphs, in which you provide an overview of your chosen topic and specify the key elements you intend to cover.
